When was the last time you felt really  rested?

When was the last time you felt really rested? We’re all aware of how important sleep is for our well-being and a healthy body and mind, but did you know there's more to feeling rested than just catching up on sleep? Rest isn't just about sleep; it's about recharging every aspect of your being. Here are 5 ideas of how to rejuvenate your body and your mind.

Work hard to nurture your emotional well-being. Focus on work projects that stimulate your imagination and that bring out the best in you. Work with people that stimulate and encourage you. Focus on clear and achievable goals for each work session. Think about what you can do to make this a reality for you.

Do things that revitalize you. Go for a walk, go to the swimming pool, play your guitar, read a book….. Take a break from scrolling on your mobile. When I’m not working, I sometimes forget about my phone for an hour or two while I knit, go for a walk, or watch a film. It’s also O.K. just to let yourself just be. Taking time to reconnect with the sights sounds and smells around you can stimulate your creativity. Doing some simple sophrology exercises can help with this too.

Balance your social interactions. Limit the time spent with negative people who drag you down. Make time to see people who stimulate you and warm your heart. Spending some time alone can do you good too. Take some time to focus on any positive interactions that you’ve had during the day. Connect with your inner self. Do some deep breathing to eliminate negative thoughts and fill yourself with positive energy. Deep breathing helps to relax your muscles and relaxing your muscles relaxes your mind! Journalling is another effective way to voice your inner thoughts. Hope some of these ideas have resonated with you.

What helps you to feel more rested? I’d love to hear from you.
